In the past few years, it seems that there are more former NBA players’ sons playing in the league. In this year’s draft there is Austin Rivers, son to former NBA player, Knicks player, and current coach of the Boston Celtics, Glenn “Doc” Rivers. After one year at Duke and a trip to the NCAA Tournament, Rivers decided to enter the 2012 NBA Draft. He is projected to go in the top 15 and is expected to contribute to a team. Doc was a mean point guard when he played for the Hawks and Knicks. He was tough on defense and tight on offense. Former Knicks players always have a special place even if they are on a rivals team (expect for Eddy Curry). If Austin can have an NBA career like his dad, he should be in the league for a long time.
Update: Rivers was drafted 10th overall by the NO Hornets. He will play alongside fellow draftee and 1st overall pick, Anthony Davis.
